KATAFIX-BC | PolyDADMAC based formaldehyde free dye fixing agent

Katafix-BC is an all in one dye fixing agent for cellulosic’s dyed with Reactive, Direct, Indigo and Sulphur dyestuffs. It shows very good improvement in colour fastness to washing. For Indigo denims, can be applied after desizing and before or after stone washing or enzyme treatment. Katafix-BC can be applied by exhaust as well as pad application. It can also be used as a cationising agent to increase the exhaustion of reactive dyes on cellulosic fabrics.  

Application  (For Indigo & Sulphur dyed fabrics) 

Exhaust process

• Dosage :  2-3%
• Bath pH :  5.0-5.5
• Bath Temp :  30-40 deg.C
• Time : 15-20 min.

Padding process

• Dosage :  20-30 gpl
• Pick-up :  65-70% 
• Bath pH : 5.0-5.5
• Drying :  110-130 deg.C 

Spray Application:

• Dosage : 20-30 gpl 
• Bath pH : 5.0-5.5 
• Spraying -->  Drying at 110-130 deg.C

  Exhaust Process (For Direct dyed fabrics)

 After thorough soaping of Direct dyed fabrics, treat in a fresh bath with below recipe: 

Exhaust process

• Dosage : 1.5-3% 
• Bath pH :  3.5-4.5
• Bath Temp :   30-40 deg.C 
• Time :  15-30 min.

• Dosage :  15-30 gpl
• Pick-up :   65-70%
• Bath pH :   3.5-4.5 
• Drying :   130-170 deg.C

Application process as a cationising agent

1.   Treat substrate with below mentioned dosages of Katafix-BC at 50 deg.C for 20 mins. 

      2. In fresh bath dose dyestuff slowly at room temp. continue for 20 mins. 

           Then add 10 g/l soda ash and raise temp to 60°c and run for 15 mins. and drain. 

      3.  Give one cold wash and neutralize with acetic acid and dry the garment. 

Instructions for Dilutions : 

 Procedure to prepare 22%  Katafix-BC

1. Take 50 parts of Katafix-BC 
2. To this, gradually add 50 parts of DM water at 25-30*C under stirring 
3. Continue stirring at 250-300 rpm for 15-20 min. using turbo stirrer to obtain homogenous solution  

Storage: Store in cool, ventilated shed away from heat and direct sunlight. Storage temperature should not exceed 35 deg c. Close lids firmly to avoid contact with air and moisture. 

Shelf Life: 9 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under controlled conditions
