Cationization imparts positive charges on the cotton fibre. This helps in eliminating the use of salt in the dyeing process. Cationization of cotton also results in higher exhaustion rate of dye, thereby enhancing the Colourant strength. It also improves the washing fastness, rubbing fastness and depth of shade.

Catfix-511 (N) is a special cationising agent developed to improve the exhaustion of pigment on cellulosic and cellulosic rich blends. Catfix-511 (N) can also be used for the fixation of indigo and sulphur dyes. It can also be used in pre-treatment of substrate in pigment inkjet printing. Novel effects can be obtained on garments by localised application of Catfix-511 (N), as it has good affinity for anionic dyes.
