5. APPLICATION- Used as general industrial fine chemical.

- It is used as a source of the PhSe unit in organic synthesis.

- Diphenyl diselenide inhibits δ-aminolevulinate dehydratase (δ-ALA-D) from brain, liver and kidney in vitro.

- It is useful reagent, catalyst, and precursor materials with applications in thin film deposition, industrial chemistry, pharmaceuticals, LED manufacturing and others.
