Sequestering agent in powder form

Saraquest-W (Conc). is high power sequestering agent in powder form specially developed for scouring and bleaching of cotton and polyester/cellulosic blends.

Saraquest-W (Conc). has a high chelating action for calcium, magnesium, and iron under alkaline conditions and at high temperature, thereby it prevents precipitation of insoluble hydroxides and carbonates which are formed due to alkali used in scouring and bleaching. It also chelates iron impurities preventing catalytic damage and pin-hole marks during peroxide bleaching.

1. In scouring, bleaching as well as combined scouring and bleaching of cotton and blends by batch process: 0.25-0.5 g/l Saraquest-W (Conc). can be added with a usual recipe to prevent white deposits as well as pin-hole marks due to iron. When Saraquest-W (Conc). is added in the recipe, a concentration of organic stabiliser can be reduced due to stabilising action of Saraquest-W (Conc).
   
   
2. For dyeing of reactive, vats & sulphur dyes up to 200-250 ppm hard water, 0.25-0.4 g/l Saraquest-W (Conc) can be added before addition of dyebath conditioner/levelling agent to soften the water.
   Pretrials are recommended to arrive at required concentration when Saraquest-W (Conc). is necessary during dyeing.
   
   
3. For combined scouring and bleaching on continuous bleaching range 0.3-0.5 gm/kg Saraquest-W (Conc). is recommended
   
   
4. In bio scouring of cotton
   0.2-0.3% Saraquest-W (Conc). is recommended to prevent precipitation of pectin residues at the end of bio scouring and before peroxide bleaching.
   
   

Note : Please note that for dosing, 10% dilution of Saraquest-W (Conc). is recommended instead of a neat solution.

Instructions For Dilution

Procedure to prepare 10% Saraquest-W (Conc).

• Take 10 parts of Saraquest-W (Conc).
• To this, add 90 parts of DM water with constant stirring at 300-400 rpm using normal/turbo stirrer. Stir till a clear solution is obtained.

Preservation:

It is recommended to add 0.1% Bronopol (2-Bromo,2-nitropropane, 1,3-diol) or Methyl Paraben (methyl para hydroxy benzoate) as an antimicrobial agent to avoid fungal/microbial growth.

Note : Dilution is unstable above 10% solids on standing.

It is advisable to utilize the diluted product with in 2 months. Stir well before use.

Storage : Store in cool, ventilated shed away from heat and direct sunlight. Storage temperature should not exceed 35 deg C.Close lids firmly to avoid contact with air and moisture.

Shelf Life : 9 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under controlled conditions.
