Product Information

Saraguard-AM (Conc) is a concentrated antimicrobial agent for finishing of textile substrate. Saraguard-AM (Conc) can be applied by padding, exhaust soaking and spraying methods. Saraguard-AM (Conc) is non-leaching antimicrobial agent. It is effective against a broad spectrum of microbes. It shows antibacterial and antifungal activity by contact mechanism.

It can be applied by spray technique on the surface of shoes and packing box or paper to prevent mildew formation.

Application

Padding Process

Saraguard-AM (Conc)* :	: 10-40 g/l
Saralink-ULF	: 30 g/l + 6 g/l MgC12 (Optional,to improve extended durability)
Pick-up	: 65-70 %
Bath pH	: 5.0-6.0
Drying	: 140-160 deg.C, 1 min. (all substrates)

Exhaust Process

Saraguard-AM (Conc)* :	: 1-4%

Bath Temp.	: 30-40 deg.C
Time	: 15-20 mins.

*Dosages recommended are based on the concentrated products strength.

Dosages of diluted product to be calculated on the basis of solid content.

Precautions:

The product is supplied in the anhydrous form. The product to be diluted with water just before a treatment only when ready for processing of textiles. Once added to the pad bath / exhaust bath the stability of such a bath is limited; due to hydrolysis of the active ingredients in our antimicrobial leading to self cross linking. Hence, padding bath containing Saraguard-AM (Conc) should be used up in the shortest time possible, as extended storage of such bath would lead to formulation of insoluble particles which may settle as precipitation and reduces performance.

Kindly note that the product is readily dilutable and stored in anhydrous polar solvents like methanol, ethanol, iso-propyl alcohol or low molecular weight glycol like MEG or DEG.

Test Results:

- Cotton, polyester and their blended fabrics finished with 30 g/l Saraguard-AM (Conc) shows 80-95% reduction in bacterial count by AATCC-100, after 20 Home Launderings.

- Polyamide and Acrylic fabrics finished with 30 g/l Saraguard-AM (Conc) shows 95-100% reduction in bacterial count by AATCC 100 method.

- Take required quantity of Saraguard-AM (Conc)

- To this, gradually add any one of the anhydrous solvent mentioned above under constant stirring to obtain homogeneous product

Note :

Even a drop of water will polymerise the material. Care should be taken to avoid water contact at any stage of dilution or during packing.

Precautions

Storage	Store in cool, ventilated shed away from heat and direct sunlight. Storage temperature should not exceed 35 deg C.Close lids firmly to avoid contact with air and moisture.
Shelf Life	8 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under controlled conditions
