PRODUCT LITERATURE

RETARDER-ACR

Product Information

Retardar ACR is a retarding agent for dyeing of acrylic and its blends (fibre, yarn, fabric, garment with cationic dyes). It has high affinity for acrylic fibres. It regulates the strike rate of cationic dyes by competing with dyes for active groups in the fibre. The product is used for leveling of faulty dyeings on acrylics. Acrylic fibres can be dyed by either batch or by continuous process.

Key Features & Benefits

Key Features

Benefits

Retardering action

: Good initial retarding action levelling of faculty dyeings

Stable to Hard Water

: Works even under adverse conditions of process water

Concentrated

: Economical

General Characteristics

Physical appearance

: Colourless to pale yellow liquid

Ionic nature

: Cationic

pH of 1% solution

: 7 +/- 1

Miscibility

: Miscible with water

Compatibility

: Compatible with cationic and nonionic products

Stability

: Stable to dilute acids an dilute alkalies

Application

Retarder-ACR* 0.6-1.2%
is recommended as a retarder in acrylic dyeing. Concentration of
Retarder-ACR is inversely proportional to the depth of shade. For fibres with higher rate of dyeing, higher concentration of retarder-ACR is recommended.

*Dosage of Retarder-ACR is based on the concentrated product's strength.

Dosages of diluted product to be calculated on the basis of solid content.

Instructions For Dilution

Procedure to prepare 25% diluted product of 80% Retarder-ACR

- Take 30.0 parts of Retarder-ACR

- To this, add 70.0 parts of DM water.

- Stir at 200-300 rpm or 40-45 min till Retarder-ACR is completely dissolved.

Preservation: It is recommended to add 0.1% Bronopol (2-Bromo,2-nitropropane, 1,3-diol) or Methyl Paraben (methyl para hydroxy benzoate) as an antimicrobial agent to avoid fungal / microbial growth.

Note: Un-dissolved particles if any can be filtered off
