Catfix-511 is a special cationizing agent developed to improve the exhaustion of pigment on cellulosic and cellulosic rich blends. Catfix-511 can also be used for the fixation of indigo and sulphur dyes. It can also be used in pre-treatment of substrate in pigment inkjet printing. Novel effects can be obtained on garments by localised application of Catfix-511, as it has good affinity for anionic dyes.
| Key Features | Benefits |
|---|---|
| Low molecular weight product | Uniform depostion of Catfix-511 |
| High cationic charge density product | - High exhaustion rate
- Performance of 1% Catfix-511 is better than conventional product |
| Wide pH range | Applicable at pH 5-10 |
| Very good affinity for pigment | Less bleeding of pigment during subsequent softening /biopolishing process |
| One step process for lighter shades | - No/less quantity of binder require
- Saving in energy and time |
| Formaldehyde free | Suitable for Oekotex and baby wear |
| Physical appearance | Colourless to pale yellow clear to hazy liquid |
| Ionic nature | Cationic |
| pH of 1% solution | 4 +/- 1 |
| Miscibility | Miscible with water |
| Compatibility | Compatible with cationic and nonionic products |
| Stability | Stable to dilute acids and dilute alkalies |
The fabric to be cationzed should be free from anionic impurities (*see below)
1. Treat substrate with below mentioned dosages of Catfix-511 at 50 deg.C for 20 mins.
Pigment depth Catfix-511 to be taken:
| Pigment | Catfix-511 to be taken |
|---|---|
| 4% | 1-1.5% |
| 4-6% | 1.5-2.0% |
| 6-9% | 2-2.5% |
2. Dye the Catfix-511 treated fabric with pigment at 60 deg.C for 30 mins.and Drain
3. After pigment dyeing, treat the fabric at 50 deg.C with binder for 20 mins.
[Take binder as per depth of shade]
Precautionary measures -
| Storage | Store in cool, ventilated shed away from heat and direct sunlight.Storage temperature should not exceed 35 deg C.Close lids firmly to avoid contact with air and moisture. |
| Shelf Life | 8 months from the date of manufacturing, if stored under controlled conditions. |
